MIND OVER MATTER | Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Body

This week has been one of creating awareness of mental health. Anxiety is certainly the most common reason people come to us seeking CBD help. Every year the Mental Health Foundation  drives the theme behind Mental Awareness Week and this year that theme is body image and how it effects our mental and emotional wellbeing. Their website is a fantastic source of advice and inspiration for anyone with any form of mental illness or instability which is emotionally or mentally driven. I saw this quote on the underground once; In a society... Read More

DEATH, DIVORCE AND DIABETES | Michelle divulges her tricks for overcoming the toughest of years

Wim Hof breathing technique for the body, mind and soul. **getting high on your own supply** Last year was emotionally, spiritually and physically draining. It left me feeling very low and it was at a particularly low point when someone pointed me in the direction of Wim Hof Breathing techniques. Within days my life had started to pick up. Slowly and gently at at first my energy returned leaving me more awake, connected and no-where near as down in the dumps. Life’s challenges, though still there, lost much of the... Read More

EASTER BEAST | An interview with a real parent faced with the school holidays

Do you look forward to the school holidays with as much excitement as your kids or does the notion fill you with dread?  I asked some of our tribe how they felt about the impending chocolate festival, I mean Easter period. None seemed as excited as me. I wondered why. Having never had children of my own (a dog, cat and all my friends and family are quite enough responsibility for me) I realised that was the common denominator. I decided to talk to a parent about it and see if her... Read More

SQUEEL INTO SPRING WITH COLD SHOWERS | Michelle’s awakening every sense with the Wim Hof method

It appears to have become very popular of late, everyone around us seems to be Wim Hof‘ing. It’s a method of meditation and pranyama (breathing exercises) designed to calm your system to the point you can withstand prolonged periods in freezing temperatures. Breathing I’m familar with and have practised varying techniques through my yoga practice, but cold showers…no! Part of the Wim Hof method is to have a cold shower. As much as I love the water, if it’s not tropical temperatures the wet suit is on! Michelle, on the... Read More

RUNNING ON CBD | Ultra-runner Louise Greenwood tests The Tonic

Exercise is good for us. Fact. But it does come with some side effects. Injuries. Soreness. Fatigue. It’s natural and expected for the body to sometimes respond to activity in a way which displays these symptoms. CBD can help in the recovery from exercise as well as performance. There are a 3 options for taking CBD that we would recommend; CBD oil, taken sublingually. This takes an hour or 2 to take effect and generally lasts around 8 hours. Try our 8% oil. CBD Water Soluble, which can be added... Read More

THANK YOU, YES YOU | Did you know your Tonic purchase helps someone in need?

I sometimes feel this is what it must be like to be GP. No one ever goes seeking CBD because they already feel great. Who does? Everyone that walks through our door, emails us, calls the phone, is need of some kind of respite, healing, help. The reasons vary far and wide, from the heart-rending tragic tales to someone just has an itchy bum (that’s usually baby Harley, not me or Michelle). We like to treat everyone’s requirements with the same professionalism, love and consideration as we can, so never... Read More
